About Dachshund Nola

Dachshund Nola is a dog-centric blog with a sprinkle of my human life, chronicling love and adventure with Nola, my seven year old miniature dachshund. Follow along as we explore dog culture, photography, mental health, positive reinforcement training, product reviews, musings and real life with an active small dog!

Amanda

I'm a twentysomething entrepreneur from the Emerald Coast of Florida. I've always been a dog lover, and my passion for them really sparked when I got my first dog, Nola. I strive for Nola and I to be good ambassadors for the dachshund breed, and small dogs as a whole!

I have anxiety and OCD, and while it's often times a struggle to get past and work around it, I refuse to be a slave to my own mind and work hard to manage and overcome my obstacles. Mental health is incredibly important and something I touch on here often.

I love photography, and am a passionate reader. Family, travel, good food, yoga, adventure, good hair, and guilty pleasure tv gives me life. ;)

Nola is a seven year old, purebred Miniature Dachshund. She's the most intelligent animal I've ever met, and keeps me on my toes. She has her AKC Canine Good Citizen title, and one leg towards her AKC Rally Novice Obedience title. She has also competed in AKC Earthdog and worked in a local nursing home.
She is the dog of my heart, my first dog on my own, and is the best thing that's ever happened to me. I wouldn't be who and where I am now without her.  She's a fantastic breed ambassador, and all around do-everything-ever dog!
